Welcome to the Land of Taleti

The Stairs of No End

The Stairs of No End is a secret staircase that ascends into Heaven. However, the distance from the base to the top is infinite. The staircase represents fallen man’s vain attempts to reach Heaven by their own works and merit. Because of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, any man who seeks His help can ascend the infinite height and reach the top in a finite amount of time.

Adventure is a curious thing. Sometimes you have to go searching someplace beyond the horizon to find it. Sometimes adventure will come knocking at your front door. And, sometimes, adventure will even arrive uninvited at your door with a sledgehammer to tear it down without warning.

Thus begins the first book in an upcoming series of Christian fantasy novels. The Magic Calendar will follow 12-year-old Brett Parkender as he turns to God for courage in an adventure that will determine the fate of the magical world of Taleti. Written by a homeschooled teenager, The Magic Calendar novel series is to be comprised of five books, the first of which shares a title with the series itself.

Initially created by God as a perfect universe, Taleti fell to darkness when its inhabitants, the dwarves, granted the fearsome Marzul entrance into their hearts. Ever since his first appearance in Taleti, Marzul had been bent on exterminating the Taletian race before the promised Rescuer came to free the dwarves from evil. However, God cast Marzul into a deep prison so as to limit the menace’s power.

But this was not the end of Marzul. Slowly and secretly, through his own dark magic, he created beings composed of pure and undiluted evil—the Ithroi. Though Marzul still remained in confinement, these malicious monsters could carry out his work instead—or so he thought. But the barrier fencing Marzul in from the rest of the world was so spiritually powerful that even Marzul’s commands could not escape its boundaries. Incapable of governing themselves, the Ithroi could not enter the land without a master to guide them.

After centuries of restlessness and waiting, Marzul found the master he had hoped for. Formerly a violent gang-leader from Earth, Yetiwan (accompanied by his thieving friends) found entrance into Taleti through a most unusual accident. Without hesitation, Marzul delegated seven hundred of his Ithroi to the service of Yetiwan, who immediately conquered the Dwarven kingdom of Kvar and enslaved its people.
